7 Best Picnic Spots in the World

A picnic is something you can do anytime and anywhere. You can even do an indoor picnic if you want to. However, if you are looking for an awesome picnic experience, here are the 7 best picnic spots in the world.

Huayna Picchu, Peru

At an elevation of about 9,000 feet, this mountain is definitely scary.  The view at the top is exhilarating. This mountain towers over the 15th-century ruins, Machu Picchu.  From a distance, the imposing structure looks difficult to climb – and it is!  However, any averagely healthy and fit climber can scale it without any climbing tool.

Climbing it is one of the many highlights when traveling to Peru.  Before you reach the top, you will have to go through a tunnel of carved rocks and challenging structures with a sheer drop of a couple hundred meters.  The view on the top, however, is breathtaking.  It is definitely a great place to hold a picnic.

But what can you eat after a frightening and hard climb?  Celebrate the experience with an Inca Kola and butifarras.

Milford Sound, South Island, New Zealand

Have you seen pictures of this place?  It’s just magnificent.  CNN Travel is right.  It really is one of those places that you should visit before you die.  Milford Sound is located with the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site.

It possesses and retains a grandeur that is unlike any other.  No wonder it has been ranked as the World’s Most Beautiful Place.  You will literally go “Wow!” just by looking at its pictures.

The Milford Explorer departs early from Queenstown, and it will briefly stop at Te Anau township.  It will head through the Homer Tunnel and into Milford Sound.  Tourists can then go on a two-hour boat ride through Milford Sound.  In summer, you can spend a few nights here and explore the Milford Track.

What should you pack on a picnic aboard the two-hour boat cruise?  How about the traditional treats like Anzac biscuits and roast leg of lamb?  Grab a bottle of Marlborough sauvignon blanc while you’re at it.

You can pack a picnic basket filled with olives, marinated artichokes, pizza bianca and a bottle of delicious wine.  The Villa Borghese is the best place to escape and enjoy Italy.  The gardens boast of Spanish-styled steps that lead to English-style gardens.  However, the overall ambiance of the whole place is Italian through and through.
